12/25/2023 0 Comments Rage 2 leak![]() ![]() The community manager for RAGE had a bit of fun with this incident, schooling Wal-Mart in everything they did wrong with RAGE 2‘s placeholder box art.īut this doesn’t necessarily mean that the existence of RAGE 2 is confirmed, but rather, it means that Bethesda is just having some friendly marketing fun. Instead, we got something a bit more comedic, something we’ve yet to see from Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford or the community and social media managers for the other publishers. As stated by Forbe’s Jason Evangelho earlier this morning, Bethesda didn’t release a “dismissive, boilerplate statement we’re used to (something along the lines of “we don’t comment on rumors and speculation,”) the community manager for RAGE decided to school Walmart on the proper display of its box art.” Unlike many developers and publishers on the market, the most recent bit was the fact that games like Beyond Good & Evil 2 had made the cut, but the more interesting aspect is Bethesda’s response to Wal-Mart Canada’s little online leak. While many of these games have only been teased to be in development, the most surprising here isn’t the latter four games, but the first on the list: RAGE 2. Among those comes the titles RAGE 2, Gears of War 5, Borderlands 3, Forza “Horizons” 5, and Square Enix’s Just Cause 4. The latest leak includes some of the biggest names for Bethesda, Microsoft, Gearbox, and many more. Unfortunately, Wal-Mart’s latest leak isn’t just a minor one. It’s also not uncommon for us to have a reason to take a deep breath in and almost exhale when publishers such as Sony and Bethesda take to the stage, giving us a glimpse at what they’ve been hard at work developing and are ready to show it off. Bethesda has made vague hints about a new Rage before but no-one really expected it to be at E3 (they did expect Doom 2, but that’s not mentioned). It’s not uncommon for online retailer listings to begin preparing for E3 and major game events with preparing SKU and placeholders for upcoming titles, however, Bethesda wasn’t all-to-amused when Wal-Mart Canada accidentally leaked the highly anticipated sequel to id Software’s RAGE.Īs E3 quickly approaches, online and big-box retailers are already preparing for the major announcements that will be made. This was leaked back in March and seems to be Warner’s big new Lego game for Christmas, and a follow-up of sorts to the Lego Batman series.Īnother listing that’s out of the blue. We know it’s coming but so far Activision hasn’t released any other information about it.Ī game that’s been rumoured for years, although recent hints have all pointed towards an E3 reveal. The last one didn’t seem to do that well and there’s been no hint about another, so this was presumably meant to be a big secret for Square Enix.Ĭomet is an old codename used for Destiny 2 DLC, and presumably refers to the major expansion planned for this autumn. Here’s everything that was listed and the other rumours surrounding them (all Walmart provided was the names and formats).Ĭurrent rumours point to a new Assassin’s Creed being out next year, that will be a spin-off from Origins that includes Ancient Greece.Ī return for Sam Fisher has been rumoured for some time, and it’s already had one retail leak via Amazon, but there’s still no clue how Ubisoft will resurrect their old stealth franchise.
